How to Heal a Tree
If I came across these trees in the woods, I would give cornmeal to each of these trees that are bound together. I would ask them if there was anything I could do for them.
Often, older trees are in need of some shamanic medical healing, and they will readily ask for such from a shaman. If that is what one or both needed, I would take a journey for each of them and perform whatever was needed by them, usually extraction and surgery.
Afterwards, I would ask them if I could sit between them and listen to whatever they wanted to share with me. Through the knowledge that trees have and understanding how they communicate with the great mycelium network web beneath the soil, one can be taught so much and be given information we were never aware of. Sometimes on very special occasions, a tree spirit might reveal itself to me, a signal of complete trust with one another.
Even if you aren’t a shaman, you can offer help and healing to the trees. If a tree asked you for help, try the following: Ground yourself, close your eyes, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth slowly three times, then lay your hands wherever the tree directs you. Allow the energy of Mother Earth to rise through the soles of your feet, up through your legs and torso and flow into your arms, and then out via the small chakras located in each of your palms and into the tree. This is HER way of helping the tree. You are the fulcrum, the conduit for Her energy into the ailing tree.
When done, step away and telepathically ask the tree how it is doing. Do you receive a warm invisible embrace? Perhaps a tingling sensation coming over you? That is the tree telling you thank you for your compassion and heart, for taking time to help it out.
Afterwards, you may ask if the trees are up to you sitting with them. Like all beings that receive such a healing, they may want to be alone to absorb and digest the energy gifted to them. Honor their wishes here, sitting only with permission.
After sitting with them, or if you were told to give them time to themselves, gift both trees with cornmeal and bid them farewell. Don’t be surprised if they ask you to come back. Sometimes that tree that you worked with will send you a dream. If so, write it down in your dream journal. It will be a wonderful experience for you.
Trees heal us daily because they pulse with the energy of the Cosmos and whomever you believe in. They gift us with that energy every day. Even more, they convert CO2 into oxygen so we can survive here on this planet.
When you can, be a conduit for our Mother, the Earth, and allow that energy to move through you into another being. It could be a tree, it could be a bush, it could be a sick stream that needs clearing and cleansing, a rock that asked you for help… You just never know what you might meet on such a walk in the woods.
